Andy is a native of southern California. Andy’s practice focuses on real estate, business, corporate, transactional and planning matters, with a subspecialty in taxation. Andy is a Certified Tax Specialist (as authorized by the State Bar of California) and a California Certified Public Accountant (on “inactive status”). Representative transactions include (i) the drop down and sale of a fourth generation owned San Diego business with a transaction value of approximately $60 million to provide for pre-tax continued investment of a portion of the transaction value, (ii) negotiations for the purchase and sales of real estate with prices between $10 million and $30 million, (iii) a “reverse 1031 exchange” with very tight timing issues involving commercial/ industrial real estate, (iv) two sales of privately held companies to European-based purchasers, one of which structured as a triangular merger for tax purposes, and (v) other merger and acquisition transactions involving companies in the manufacturing and services industries. Andy has been a member of the State Bar of California since 1985, and is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association. Before merging firms with Alan Rich & Associates, APLC in 2017 to form Judkins Glatt & Rich, LLP (of which he is the Managing Partner), Andy’s prior affiliations also include being a partner at a national law firm and spending his earlier years at KPMG. Andy received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University at Long Beach. aglatt@jgrllp.com
